The Boston Globe reported that Joseph Amoroso was arrested in the city’s South Boston neighborhood Tuesday and charged with larceny over $250 after he allegedly took more than $600 worth of products from a Home Depot.

The Globe said that according to a police report, Amoroso placed items in a shopping cart and walked to the exit without paying, but was stopped in the vestibule area where the shopping carts are kept.

Among the items Amoroso attempted to steal according to the report was a Luxe Sherpa Chocolate Velvet Throw, two pairs of fingerless gloves, outdoor safety glasses, and a $329 fuel band saw tool. Police also found hypodermic needles in his pockets, according to the report.

Amoroso is the biological father of Bella Bond, who was buried last week in Winthrop near her paternal great-grandmother after a private funeral.

The 32-year-old Lynn resident, who never met Bella, kissed his hand and placed it on the coffin during the graveside service.

Prosecutors say Bella was killed. Her remains were found in June on Deer Island.

A composite image of the girl was shared by millions on social media before she was identified in September. Her body was released this week by the Massachusetts medical examiner.

Her mother’s boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, has been charged with murder, while her mother, Rachelle Bond, is charged with being an accessory. Both pleaded not guilty.
