Take-out turkey growing in popularity

Many people just don't have the time to do it all themselves

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Thanksgiving turkey take-out has become a way of life for many people here in western Massachusetts. Many of us are too busy to devote the time necessary for a home-cooked holiday meal.

The Delaney House in Holyoke is one of many western Massachusetts restaurants that prepare a whole turkey dinner for take-out. Katy Vachula of Amherst will entertain a small gathering with the help of the Delaney House.

“I ordered a turkey uncooked. I believe Cranberries, two pies, stuffing, mashed potatoes and a few things I don’t even remember,” Vachula explained.

She told 22News that she has heard so much from others who have been serving their families turkey take-out, so she decided to try it out for the first time.
