MARL would like for the pair to be adopted together.
JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The People for Ethical Treatments of Animals are offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for sealing two puppies inside an aquarium.
“These puppies were terrified, trapped, and left to die by someone with a dangerous lack of empathy,” says PETA Senior Director Colleen O’Brien. “PETA is urging anyone with information to come forward immediately before anyone else gets hurt.”
Last week, WJTV reported that the puppies were found trapped in an aquarium near a creek in Hinds County. A man said he was looking for his dogs when he made the discovery. The man found the puppies near Clinton-Tinnon Road.
He said the aquarium had a lid on it that was cemented shut. We’re told sheriff’s deputies came and had to pull the lid off the tank to rescue the puppies.
Mississippi’s Animal Rescue League is housing the puppies.
No one has been arrested in connection with the crime. Anyone who can provide information that would lead to the arrest and the conviction of the person responsible for the crime will be eligible for a $5,000 reward. If you would like to report information, call the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department at 601-974-2900.
