Gov. Baker favors daily fantasy sport regulations

Baker is in favor of age and advertising restrictions as well as disclosure agreements.

BOSTON (WWLP) – Governor Charlie Baker told reporters he agrees with Attorney General Maura Healey’s proposals regarding the regulation of daily fantasy sports.

Baker said Healey’s plan would allow daily fantasy sport companies like FanDuel and DraftKings to continue operating in the state. He said he likes her proposals for age and advertising restrictions and disclosure requirements, a sentiment echoed by a Springfield college student who plays on the sites.

“It’s kinda like gambling to me, the way I look at it,” Oumar Keita told 22News.”That’s why I don’t get too involved in it. Or else, college isn’t the only thing I’ll have to worry about paying back later.”

Baker plans to review public comments on Healey’s plan over the next 60 days.
