WESTBURY, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a Long Island movie theater was briefly evacuated after a man wanted in Massachusetts was arrested nearby.
Newsday says a Westbury theater was evacuated Wednesday night after a disturbance involving a customer. Police later determined that incident was unrelated to the arrest of the suspect.
Massachusetts state police had executed an arrest warrant with the help of Nassau police for a suspect arrested nearby in the same shopping center.
Massachusetts state police couldn’t provide any information on the warrant or the arrest.
Authorities have been searching since Sunday for the person who broke into and stole firearms from a U.S. Army Reserve Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The FBI said at the time of the break-in that there was no indication the crime was linked to terrorism.
