Tattoos for Toys event held in Easthampton

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Toy related tattoos were going for $50 a pop at Easthampton’s Off the Map Tattoo parlor Sunday. But all that money would go to buy toys for needy children this holiday season.

Quite a sizable crowd had formed by the time the Cottage Street store opened late Sunday morning. Tattoo artist Frank Ready realized he was in for a busy day. He told 22News, “I woke up this morning; there was a full line down the block. So I promptly went back to bed to be ready for this.”

Those who had waited for their turn during this tattoos for toys benefit day seemed pleased with their newest body artwork.

Julie Oliver of Northampton said, “It’s the first time I’ve come here, it’s a really great cause and I’ve got a tattoo, it’s cute and it was quick also.”

The money raised will be used to purchase gifts that will be donated to the Toys for Tots campaign. A cause that 22News has supported year after year and will again this holiday season.
