BOSTON (AP) — The entire Boston Bruins roster is expected to participate in the team’s annual holiday toy shopping event benefitting children being treated in hospitals.

This year’s shopping spree is scheduled to take place Monday at the Target store in Everett.

The toys will be bought with donations from the players, coaching staff and the Boston Bruins Foundation.

They will be delivered by the players Dec. 10 to hospitals as gifts to more than 600 children who are unable to celebrate the holidays at home. Bruins Hall of Famer Ray Bourque started the event years ago when he was captain.

The hospitals receiving this year’s toy donations include Boston Children’s Hospital, Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center, MassGeneral Hospital for Children, Shriners Hospital for Children, and Franciscan Hospital for Children.
