SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – As the days and nights get colder, more people are in need of warm clothing.
The Springfield Open Pantry People’s Center held its 11th annual winter clothing and blanket drive Saturday. Donors dropped off winter garments, gloves and thermal underwear.
Mary-Jeanne Gash of Westfield brought clothing and blankets to those in need. “Everybody should be warm. Very upsetting to think that people will be cold.”
All the winter items generously donated at the Bishop Marshall Center, near St. Michael’s Cathedral will be stocked at the Open Pantry’s People Center at 287 State Street.
Those in need are invited to come by and select what they need.
