After Paris attacks, some western Mass. residents find solace in prayer

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – As Paris continues to mourn the innocent lives lost during Friday’s attack that killed 129 people and injured hundreds, western Massachusetts residents with ties to France are grieving and praying.

On Saturday people of French Canadian descent found solace at mass, as they try to grip with tragic loss of life in Paris. Hundreds of people gathered at Saint Rose de Lima Parish in Chicopee for comfort; praying for the dead, those injured and their families.

That deadly terrorist attack in France leaving people around the world in shock, including right here at home.

Paul Roda of Chicopee said, “There isn’t much we can do but hope and pray and we go to church to pray.”

The gunmen attacked several popular tourist areas, leaving the world in shock.

Among the dead, an American; 23-year old college student Nohemi Gonzalez from California State University.
