10K participants ran for abuse awareness

Those who participated hope they've made an impact

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Organizers hope that Saturday’s “Run for Women and Girls” helps increase awareness about all forms of abuse against women.

Dozens of women as well as men took part in the 3rd annual 10K run organized by the Springfield YWCA.

Those who participated hope they’ve made an impact.

Cindy Campos-Guerri from Monson told 22News, “I just love what the message stands for, and what this whole thing stands for. To motivate women, and I’m definitely all for that.”

To demonstrate 22News’ support for the YWCA event, 22News reporter Kaitlin Goslee served as master of ceremonies.
