Potential recount in Greenfield for the mayoral seat

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Tuesday night, Patty Morey Walker lost the mayoral race against Mayor William Martin; however, it was, no doubt, a very close race. Mayor Martin only won with 52-percent of the votes.

Paul Bissex of Greenfield told 22News, because of how close the race was, he’d support a vote recount. He said, “It seems like a fine idea to me. I don’t know how many voters we got, but 15-thousand plus people and if the vote count was a fraction of that then that seems close enough to recount. What’s the harm? It’s an important thing.”

The Greenfield Town Clerk’s Office told 22News, the Morey Walker Campaign has until Friday, November 13th to hand in the paper work to file for a vote recount.

We tried to call Morey Walker on Friday for a comment, but we haven’t received a call back as of yet.
