GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) — The former manager of a Massachusetts food co-op has admitted to embezzling about $75,000 from the organization.
The Recorder reports 51-year-old Dwight Gaddis pleaded guilty Monday to multiple larceny charges in Franklin County Superior Court. He was sentenced to five years of probation.
Gaddis will also be required to repay the money he stole from the Franklin County Community Co-op from December 2012 until September 2013. He must pay $25,000 within five days of his plea and the remainder before his probation ends.
The co-op runs Green Fields Market in Greenfield and McCusker’s Market in Shelburne Falls. It has more than 2,400 member-owners and an annual sales volume of more than $8.5 million.
