Following crash, Baystate office building declared safe

Bricks were loosened, window was shattered in crash

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Baystate Health medical office building has been declared safe by a Springfield building inspector, one day after a car crashed into it.

The crash happened at around 4:30 Monday afternoon at 3300 Main Street. The crash loosened several bricks on the ground level and shattered a window. Baystate Health spokesperson Brendan Monahan told 22News that the section of the building in question was a radiology area, and that staff is working around the damaged area until it’s repaired.

Monahan said Tuesday that an inspection has found the building remains safe.
