22News goes to Swift River Preschool to talk about weather

Cirrus clouds was a crowd favorite among students

NEW SALEM, Mass. (WWLP) – 22News talked to some very enthusiastic weather forecasters this afternoon. And 22News Storm Team Meteorologist Jennifer Pagliei was there to speak about the different types of weather.

They already had a great background on weather themselves!

22News went to Swift River Preschool in New Salem this afternoon to talk to second graders about different types of clouds.They learned what kind of weather comes with each different cloud. They also learned about storm systems, Including, hurricanes, tornadoes, and thunderstorms.

One cloud seemed to be a crowd favorite among the second graders.

Just ask Jacobia Tyminski, second grader at Swift River Preschool,”Cirrus is my favorite because it’s sunny out and I can go play.”

Matthew Vitello, also a second grader also agreed cirrus clouds was his favorite, “Because I like summer and cirrus makes it sunny.”

Cirrus clouds brings sunny weather, and most of the students liked that they were able to be outside during sunny days. At the end of the presentation, the students were able to make their favorite cloud out of cotton balls.

The different drawings ranged from pretty intense storm clouds to just fair weather clouds.
