WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police were called to a West Hartford elementary school after a boy accidentally shot a school bus while firing a pellet gun outside.
Capt. Jeffrey Rose says officers responded to Norfeldt Elementary School on Friday afternoon after receiving reports of the incident.
The bus driver told police he heard popping sounds as he was leaving Norfeldt’s parking lot and then soon discovered a window on the passenger’s side had been shattered.
There were students on the bus at the time, but no injuries were reported.
Rose says officers found the teenager, who admitted to firing on a stump but said he was unaware any of the BBs hit the bus.
The boy was referred to the Juvenile Review Board following an investigation.
