Parents, students outraged after clash between high school band, opposing football team

PITTSBURG (KRON) — It is the viral video behind a hotbed of controversy in the East Bay.

An apparent clash between a school band and the opposing football team has parents, students, and a community outraged. School officials from Deer Valley High School and Pittsburg High School met Monday to sort out what exactly happened on the football field Friday night.

KRON’s J.R. Stone attended the meeting.

Pittsburg High School band members said that they were pushed and spit on by Deer Valley High School players during their pre-game performance.

The coaches and players all stood on the field during the performance. The taunting did not allow the band to perform peacefully.
