WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) You’re invited to a Halloween party to help cancer survivors in your community. Next Friday, Survivor Journeys is hosting a Halloween Gala at the Storrowton Carriage House at the Big E.
Survivor Journeys is a local non-profit that provides social and emotional support services to cancer survivors, their families and caregivers. The founder of the non-profit, Dr. Jay Burton is a cancer survivor himself who is hoping to raise enough money to develop new programs.
“We want to develop more support groups, we want to develop our mentoring program, another thing we are working to do is educate our social workers in the area to become more involved in oncology social work,”
The gala is next Friday at 6 P.M.. There will be raffles and entertainment. It is $50 a person and there is a cash bar.
