Car narrowly misses church in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Police in Springfield are trying to determine what caused a driver to crash through a fence and nearly miss a church in the city’s McKnight neighborhood early Monday morning.

Springfield Police say the car came close but did not hit the Holy Trinity Church of God at 57 Bay Street sometime 1:00am. A 22News camera crew was there where at least one person was taken away in an ambulance.

Springfield Police Sgt. Erwin Greene told 22News the driver’s injuries were minor.
