SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A street in Springfield’s Pine Point neighborhood is back open after a car accident closed it down Sunday night.

Springfield police and firefighters were called to Edgemont Street before 11:00pm where a driver needed help being removed from their vehicle following the crash.

Springfield police Captain Robert Strempek told 22News the driver was not seriously injured in the one-car accident and didn’t need to be taken to the hospital.

The road was closed for a time as both the car and at least one other vehicle needed to be towed.
