Rubber Duck Regatta raises funds for the disabled

The event has quadrupled in size since it began 12 years ago

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Rubber duckies sure know what it takes to raise a lot of money.

The United Rehabilitation Services says its annual Rubber Duck Regatta raised $170,000 this year. That is $30,000 more than last year.

The sea of ducks were tossed into the Great Miami River September 19. The first six that crossed the finish line down river won prizes.

The regatta is one of the main fundraisers for URS. Organizers say the event has quadrupled in size since it began 12 years ago.

All the money will help children and adults with disabilities.
