Suspects had drugs out in ‘plain view’

Rodriguez and Colon were charged with a Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Two men from Holyoke are facing multiple drug charges after police allegedly found heroin and crack cocaine in their vehicle.

According to Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert, around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, police officers spotted Nathaniel Rodriguez and Kevin Colon, both 19-years old, sitting in a vehicle on Chestnut Street with drugs in “plain view.”

After a brief investigation, Lt. Albert said the officers seized $2,000 in cash, about 111 bags of heroin, 30 small bags of cocaine, and 5 bags of crack cocaine.

Rodriguez and Colon were charged with the following:

  • Possession of Class A (Heroin)
  • Possession With Intent to Distribute Class A
  • Possession Class B (Cocaine)
  • Possession With Intent to Distribute Class B
  • Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws
  • Drug Violation of School Zone 100 Feet of Public Park

Both men will be arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Wednesday.
