Victim of deadly Athol fire identified

Albert Clements died in fire at Morton Meadows

ATHOL, Mass. (WWLP) – A 69 year-old man has been identified as the person killed in a fire at an Athol apartment building over the weekend. Mary Carey, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, notified 22News that Albert Clements of Athol died in Saturday’s fire at 3 Morton Meadows.

The American Red Cross was called in to help residents of other apartments, who had been forced out due to the fire.

The cause of the fire had not been released, but investigators had said that they do not believe it was intentionally set.
