WEST SPRINGFIELD Mass. (WWLP) – The Big E is closing the gates on its 17-day run. We visited one final time Sunday night, to talk to people who make this fair an annual fall destination.
From the fried fair food to the agriculture, state pride, merchandise, rides and entertainment, the fair attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
This year, the Big E celebrated its 99th anniversary. Next year, they’re planning something even more special.
22News talked to people who said they’ll be back. Dan Whalley said, “We will be back. We come once or twice every year, we’ll make sure we go around again…and make sure I get the food and she sees the parade that’s behind us right now. We enjoy ourselves every time.”
Final tally for the 2015 Big E: 1,345,961 visitors.
