ROSEBURG, Ore. (MEDIA GENERAL) – From presidential candidates to music and television stars, the mass shooting in Oregon has people reacting.

A gunman opened fire at an Oregon community college Thursday, killing at least 10 people before he died during an exchange of gunfire with police, authorities said.

The shooting happened at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, about 180 miles south of Portland.

Many prominent names took to Twitter to express condolences, thoughts and prayers. Others used the moment to discuss gun control.
