WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – For the 18th consecutive year, the AIDS Foundation of Western Massachusetts held a walk-and-run fundraiser at Stanley Park in Westfield.
More than 100 supporters either ran or walked to raise money that helps men and women with HIV/AIDS in the western part of the state.
Families came from all over the Pioneer Valley, but people like Springfield’s Maria Garcia said they felt this was the right thing to do. “It’s important to support the cause. I know that they raise a lot of money and people are in need to let them know that people care.”
22News Storm Team meteorologist Nick Bannin served as master of ceremonies. Participants contributed $25,000 to programs that help create AIDS awareness and directly help those who suffer from the illness.
