SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police say that they caught three car break-in suspects in the act. Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that Gabriel Rodriguez, 22, Artem Vaswilevitch, 24, and Nathan Privette, 24, face multiple charges following their arrests on Maple Street Wednesday night.
According to Delaney, police were called to the area of 20 Maple Street, for reports of three men breaking into a white Honda Civic. Officers arrived quickly and found the suspects at the car. Delaney says that the three were carrying tools for breaking into cars, and that one of them had a baseball bat, and a bag full of items stolen in other car breaks.
He says police also spoke to a witness, who tied the suspects to a vandalism, and another break in down the street. Police are currently looking into whether the three may have been involved in additional thefts.
Rodriguez, Vaswilevich, and Privette, all Springfield residents, are charged with two counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny over $250, two counts of malicious damage of a motor vehicle, and possession of burglarious instruments.
