MIAMI (MEDIA GENERAL/WKRN) – A single-engine plane made an emergency landing on a Florida highway Thursday morning, causing heavy traffic delays outside of Miami.
According to multiple reports, the fixed-wing plane landed in the westbound lanes of I-595 near Davie, Florida, closing an off-ramp and the right lane of the highway. WPLG-TV in Florida reports the pilot did not appear to be injured, and was seen sitting on one of the plane’s wings after the landing.
The cause of the emergency landing is not known at this time and the pilot’s name has yet to be released. However, the plane is registered to Gary Hill, of Nashville, Tennessee.
