Police cruiser hit by a SUV in North Adams

The officer suffered a broken foot

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) – A North Adams Police Officer is recovering Thursday night after his cruiser was hit by another vehicle.

North Adams Police Chief Michael Cozzaglio told 22News at around 2:30 Thursday afternoon, the officer’s cruiser was cut off by an SUV.

It happened at the intersection of Church Street and West Shaft Road.

The officer hurt his head and suffered a broken foot. The driver of the SUV suffered a broken arm. Both were taken to Berkshire Medical Center.

Chief Cozzaglio told 22News the driver was cited for failure to yield.
