HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – With the flu season starting in a few weeks, now’s the time to get your flu shot.
Holyoke Medical Center’s Dr. Karen Ferroni told 22News, hospital employees will get their flu shots next week. Last year’s vaccine was found to be less than fully effective, but Dr. Ferroni is confident that this year’s vaccine will fight the flu. “What we’re hearing from the CDC is, they’re very happy with the formula this year, and it should have good efficacy for the flu.”
Agencies serving the elderly are starting to schedule flu vaccine clinics. Locally, 22News received word Thursday that the Northampton Senior Center’s flu-shot clinic has been set for Friday, October 9th.
