SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Dozens of people put down blankets and beach chairs in Stearns Square in downtown Springfield Wednesday night for an outdoor screening of “The Princess Bride”.
They had a lot of other activities as well: a bicycle powered smoothie maker, outdoor games, and gymnastics demonstrations. All in all, it was a pretty nice scene.
“I love how many kids there are here. It’s a beautiful night,” said Leila Tunnell of Amherst. “It’s a great event to put on in the middle of a city. Very cool to bring everyone together.”
Tiersen Willette-Lopez of Chicopee said, “My mom actually heard this was happening and it’s one of our favorite movies. So we figured we’d come and check it out.”
The Springfield Central Cultural District sponsored three movies under the stars.
Next Wednesday night, they’ll screen “Office Space”.
