HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Holyoke woman was arrested at the Holyoke Mall on Sunday for allegedly shoplifting and assaulting an employee with her teeth.

Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert told 22News that Officer Gary Wagner went to the JCPenney at the Holyoke Mall after receiving a report that the store’s Loss Prevention Officers were struggling with a shoplifter; 38-year-old Emily Maysonet-Mateo of Holyoke.

After Maysonet-Mateo was arrested, Lt. Albert said one JCPenney employee told Officer Wagner that he was injured and showed two bite marks that were done by the suspect during the struggle.

Maysonet-Mateo allegedly shoplifted a bottle of “Invictus” Cologne and a bottle of “Versace” Cologne, Lt. Albert said. This is her third shoplifting offense according to the report.

Maysonet-Mateo was charged with Shoplifting, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, her “Teeth”. She was arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Monday.
