Pittsfield Mayor Bianchi advances, but didn’t finish first

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Incumbent Daniel Bianchi and challenger Linda Tyer will be the candidates on the November ballot for mayor of Pittsfield. In Tuesday’s preliminary election, Tyer came out on top with 2,790 votes. Bianchi was in second place with 1,960.

Finishing in third, and therefore eliminated from the final ballot was Craig Gaetani with 176 votes, and also eliminated was fourth-place finisher Donna Walto with 133 votes.

Bianchi is trying for his third term in office. Being first elected in 2011, he was returned to office without opposition in 2013. Tyer currently serves as Pittsfield city clerk.

Voter turnout was 25%.
