Funeral services planned for 2-year-old baby Bella

WINTHROP, Mass. (WCVB) – We’re hearing from the father of Bella Bond, the little Massachusetts girl whose body was found on Deer Island.

The day after a vigil for Bella Bond on Deer Island, which happened hours after her mother and her mother’s boyfriend were arraigned in convention with Bella’s death, the Winthrop Police Chief met with the family of Bella’s father, to offer assistance in planning the funeral and burial. The girl’s biological father, Joe Amoroso, says he’s already decided what he’d like to do.

“I would like Bella to be, actually buried. I have a family plot in Winthrop, next to my Grandmother, Mimi Amoroso. I would really like my daughter to be buried next to my Grandmother,” said Joe Amoroso, Bella’s father. “It’s not a coincidence that her body was found on my Grandmother’s birthday, June 25th.”

Shortly after Bella’s body was discovered in a trash bag back in June, offers began coming in, people willing to pay for the funeral and a cemetery plot. There have also been offers from church leaders making themselves available to conduct a funeral service. Bella’s biological father says he’s made a decision on that too.

“I would like for East Coast International Church, that’s where I worship at. I would like the pastors of the Church where I worship to be able to do that,” said Amoroso.

The timing for the funeral and burial is uncertain because the medical examiner has not released the 2-year-old’s body.
