‘TECCA’ principal met with ‘virtual’ students in Chicopee

The ‘virtual school began with 270 students last year

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The school principal is a face many students may be used to seeing every day, but on Thursday, some western Massachusetts ‘virtual’ students got a rare visit with theirs.

Principal Adam Goldberg of ‘Tec Connections Academy‘ was in Chicopee at the AMF Chicopee Lanes to meet with students of the new virtual school. It offers personalized education, students complete work on their own time, and once a week join the teacher and classmates for a live, interactive video chat class.

Principal Goldberg told 22News, “A question that would be more in line with what we want to ask is given three sources of facts that you can find, which would be the one that would most apply to you in solving this problem?”

‘TECCA’ began with 270 students last year and are starting this school year with more than 800 students. The student body includes young athletes training for the Olympics, actors, patients receiving treatment, or students who were bullied in their traditional classroom.
