(NBC News) The search for four people swept away by flash floods in Utah Monday continues.
One child is still missing after two vehicles were caught in flood waters in the tiny community of Hildale. Twelve others in those vehicles were killed.
In nearby Zion National Park six people were also killed; one other is still missing and presumed dead.
The National Guard joined the search Wednesday. About 600 people from law enforcement and volunteers have been out since Monday looking for the missing.
“It’s very muddy, its slippery,” says Task Force Leader Wade Russell. “Some of the area our folks are walking into they are sinking into their knees and they are getting covered in mud.”
