NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Monday is the last day of the Three County Fair in Northampton, closing its 198th season. Fair organizers had been anticipating a crowd of about 40,000 to attend the annual celebration of agriculture, rides, entertainment, crafts, and traditional fair foods.
Some people told 22News that they are taking the weekend to enjoy smaller fairs that might be overshadowed by the Big E, which is coming in a couple weeks.
“Oh yes, there’s definitely a huge difference, but this is our first year coming here, so we wanted to come here and experience what it was like. And the Big E, we do that every year, so we know what we’re in for,” Jennifer Lelievre of Chicopee said.
Highlights of this year’s fair include the return of Granny’s Racing Pigs, the demolition derby, and the Moto Maniacs high-wire act, which can all be seen Monday night. The fairgrounds are open until 11:00 P.M.
