Hartford police investigating city’s 25th homicide

Man died from gun shot wounds at hospital

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– Major crimes detectives are currently investigating Hartford’s 25th homicide of the year.

According to police, officers were dispatched to 32 Greenfield Street after receiving numerous 9-1-1 calls for the reports of shots fired shortly after 10 Sunday evening. Police also tell 22News’ Connecticut sister station News 8 that the shot spotter system in the area activated and indicated three shots were fired.

Police were told the victim, a 34 year old man, was being transported to St. Francis Hospital by a private car before officers arrived on scene. Police say the victim suffered multiple gun shot wounds to the face and upper torso.
