SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The American Red Cross of Western Massachusetts is off to a good start in their Labor Day Weekend push for blood donations.
There was a strong turnout late Friday morning at their Blood Donation Center on Brookdale Drive in Springfield. The Red Cross is urging area residents to donate blood, as well as platelets.
Rachel Stevenson came from Southwick to fulfill her obligations.
“I feel good to help other people,” Stevenson said.
The Blood Donation Center will be open from 8:15 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day Monday. There will also be a blood drive at the Prospect Mountain Campground in Granville Saturday from 8:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M., and at the St. Francis Social Center in Belchertown Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
