North King St in Northampton reopened after serious crash

The motorcycle rider was critically injured

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – North King Street (Routes 5 & 10) in Northampton is reopened Friday night after a serious crash.

Northampton Police Officer Eli Pack told 22News that it was a “serious accident” that has shut down both sides of the roadway. State police have been called-in to assist Northampton police with their investigation.

Northampton Police Sgt. Josef Barszcz told 22News the crash happened just after 3:00 Friday afternoon. When Northampton police arrived, they found the motorcycle rider was under the car with serious injuries. That victim was able to be freed easily.

Northampton Fire and Rescue paramedics took the motorcycle rider to Baystate Medical Center, where she is currently in critical condition.

Northampton police told 22News the woman driving the car didn’t see the motorcycle.

Accident reconstruction crews are still investigating the crash.
