Police: V.I.P Lounge employees sold drugs to undercover officers

All four suspects are accused of selling cocaine

WARE, Mass. (WWLP) – Four suspects were arrested in Ware this week on drug charges, after an extensive investigation by the Ware Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive Task Force.

According to Ware Police, an undercover investigation was conducted at the V.I.P Lounge on West Street. From March to May, officers purchased cocaine from several employees on different dates.

After the investigation, four suspects were indicted at the Superior Court in Hampshire County; 49-year-old Mary Anastas, 53-year-old Francis Oyola, 54-year-old Russell McIntire, and 53-year-old Marie McIntire.

Mary Anastas was charged with the following:

  • 5 Counts of Distribution of Cocaine
  • 1 Count of Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Laws

Francis Oyola was charged with the following:

  • 2 Counts of Distribution of Cocaine
  • 1 Count of conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Laws
  • 1 Count of Second or Subsequent Offender of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute Cocaine

Russell McIntire was charged with the following:

  • 1 Count of Distribution of Cocaine
  • 1 Count of Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Laws

Marie McIntire was charged with the following:

  • 1 Count of Distribution of Cocaine
  • 1 Count of Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Laws

The suspects were arraigned at Northampton Superior Court on Tuesday and have been scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on November 10th.
