VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Beach bomb squad was called out the Oceanfront early Friday morning for a discovery on the beach.

An MK25 marine marker washed ashore in the vicinity of 13th Street. The bomb squad arrived at the beach around 3 a.m. and set up a perimeter around the MK25, which was then transferred to Special Operations for disposal.

The Virginia Beach Police Department wants to remind residents that if you see something odd wash ashore, do not touch it, especially if it could be an unexploded military ordnance.
