Flood Warning lifted in Hampshire and Franklin County, but more rain expected

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Morning showers and thunderstorms have brought heavy rain to much of western Massachusetts, with some of the heaviest falling in western portions of Franklin County. As a result, there is a flood warning (areal) was issued for several communities in Franklin County, as well as portions of the Hampshire County towns of Goshen and Cummington, due to the strong risk of street and stream flooding in those areas.

The warning was lifted at 9:30 A.M., but rainy conditions are expected throughout the day, and the risk of flooding may come back later. Remember if you encounter a flooded roadway: turn around, don’t drown.
