4-acre dog park opens in Agawam

The park is open to all dog owners, not just Agawam residents.

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Agawam Dog owners have a new place to walk and run their pets in a fully-enclosed four-acre dog park located at Shea Field on Armory Drive.

The dogs have lots of room to run. They have drinking stations, and a double gated entrance area so dogs can’t take off while coming in or going out. The park’s been open for three weeks, and everyone’s pretty happy with it.

“I love it. I absolutely love it,” said Agawam dog owner Pam LaPierre. “There’s nowhere else to go like this where the dogs can come and they can socialize, and it’s a safe environment for them and they can run around. And just have a great time.  It’s the best thing to happen to Agawam in a long time.”

The Agawam Dog park is open to all dog owners, not just Agawam residents. But they do have a set of “reasonable rules,” including no children under eight-years-old, and dog owners must clean up after their pets.

They’re Holding a formal Grand Opening September 12th. Click Here to find all the information you need.
