NY Senator to raffle off tickets to see the Pope

The Papal audience will be notified personally after the lottery is held on August 27

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Senator Schumer is raffling off 200 tickets to see the Pontiff in Washington on September 24.

Schumer announced Wednesday, “Instead of it being that someone with connections gets the tickets that I get, I am doing a lottery.”

In coordination with the Holy See and the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate 100 lucky winners along with a guest would be able to see the Holy Father at the West Lawn of the Capitol.

Additionally, one other winner will be joining the Senator at the Joint Meeting of Congress to see His Holiness.

The Papal audience will be notified personally after the lottery is held on August 27. Only the names of the winners will be made public.

There is no cost to enter. Tickets are not for resale and travel and accommodations will be at the raffle winners’ expense.
