About Ollie:
Ollie is one perfect little gentleman!  This wonderful 2 year old kitty is very sweet-natured and loves to greet people from his Colony Room at Dakin in Springfield.  He’s the good will ambassador there, giving a chirp-meow to all visitors and offering his head to be scratched in return.  Ollie will be one of the many adult cats whose adoption fee will be lowered to $5 on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22 from 12:30-5:30pm!

$5 MVP Feline Event – This Friday and Saturday (August 21 & 22), Dakin will be reducing the adoption fees of select adult cats (our Most Valuable Pets – or MVPs) to $5!  Come to either our Springfield or Leverett Adoption Centers from 12:30 – 5:30pm to see these wonderful kitties.  Summer and early fall is cat season, and Dakin is really filled to the brim with felines, so we’re holding this event to help several of them find a home sooner rather than later.

Mutts & Mimosas – Join fellow dog enthusiasts at Dakin Humane Society’s 3rd Annual Mutts & Mimosas fundraising brunch at Quonquont Farm & Orchard in Whately on Sunday, September 20 from 11am – 2pm.   Voted “Best Charity Event” in the 2014 Reader Raves poll, Mutts & Mimosas will include a brunch catered by Seth Mias (optional dog brunch available as well), a make-your-own Mimosas bar, a raffle and silent auction (prizes include Red Sox tickets, free tattoo, gift baskets, gift certificates and plenty more), hiking trails to enjoy with or without your dog and live music.  Tickets are $50 per person, and of course dogs are invited too!  Details are here:
