ASHFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A 13 year old boy was taken to Baystate Medical Center in a helicopter after being injured in the Franklin County town of Ashfield.
Ashfield Fire Chief Del Haskins told 22News the boy was hiking with his father and brother in the area of 1194 Williamsburg Road when he fell about 80-feet off a cliff.
It happened just before 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon in a remote area known as Chapel Falls.
Firefighters used ropes to get to the boy and bring him to a landing zone where the helicopter could pick him up.
It’s not clear how badly hurt the boy is. Ashfield had help from Conway, Goshen, Turners Falls and Greenfield.
