NORWOOD, Mass. (AP) — Police in Norwood say a 4-year-old boy has died after being found at the bottom of a swimming pool at a relative’s home.
Authorities say relatives and a neighbor were performing CPR on the boy when emergency personnel arrived at the home on Friday afternoon after receiving a 911 call. First responders took over life-saving measures and rushed the child to Norwood Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The boy’s name hasn’t been released.
Police say the boy’s death appeared to be an accident and no foul play is suspected. Police and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
Authorities say the boy wasn’t from Norwood and was visiting a relative with his parents.
