Motorcycle group helps bar owner recovering from attack

One suspects has been arrested for the July 28th robbery

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – In July, the owner of Chiefs Lounge in Chicopee was brutally attacked with a metal pipe after two men broke into his bar. On Wednesday, as many as 75 motorcycle riders came together to help support the owner.

Instead of holding a benefit ride, they rode from the American Legion in Agawam to Chiefs Lounge, where they bought food and drinks to help support the victims business.

Ronald Boudau of Agawam told 22News, “We got together at 6 o’clock tonight, had a great turnout; and now we’re here spending money, putting money in the till for him. Neither of us had ever been here, it just seemed like the right thing to do.”

The owner is still recovering from the attack. On Tuesday, police arrested 34-year old Wilmer Torres in connection to the July 28th robbery. He is being held without bail.

Chicopee Police are still searching for the second suspect, they are asking anyone with information to call detectives at (413) 594-1730, or they can text a tip.
