CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Lifeguards and EMTs attempted to save the life of swimmer at a state-run pool in Chicopee, but he has died.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News that a lifeguard pulled a 45 year-old man from the water at the DCR pool at Sarah Jane Sherman Park on Meadow Street at around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon. Lifeguards at the pool performed CPR on the man, and began resuscitation efforts.
