SPRINGFIELD Mass. (WWLP) – Many western Massachusetts families are asking themselves, how early is too early to start their back to school shopping.
Families at the Eastfield Mall were welcomed on Sunday by merchants who’ve found back to school shoppers don’t wait until the last few weeks of summer to get their kids what they need.
Shacara Owns of Springfield sees the wisdom of shopping early. “Me particularly I like to start at least a month before school actually starts, not have to I guess be out of luck and not find the sizes.”
The National Retail Federation estimates that each young person going back to the school will require their folks spending at least $100 dollars just for school supplies.
Although we’re barely two days into August, stores at the mall are prepared to sell a great deal of back to school necessities right now. Angela Pratt told 22News, “I suppose they’re growing faster than we expected them to, our store has a lot of shoes at half price. Kids lately are really rough on their shoes and backpacks.”
And throughout this back to school buying season, 22News will alert you to all the changing tastes and what your children will certainly need to stay in style.
